Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven-for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” – Luke 7:47
This is what the Savior said of the disreputable woman who washed and kissed the Savior’s feet. Those around Him were shocked that He would associate with her. And His response was that she had much to be forgiven for and would thus show more love and gratitude to the Forgiver. On the other hand, those who don’t acknowledge the depth of their sin will not love the Savior.
This is what’s going on today. Those who refuse to see the gravity and the implications of their sins will not love Jesus. But those who are shown how serious their sins are will believe in Him for their salvation and love Him more and more. And the more we see just how sinful we are, the more we love Him.
God, help us all to see how sinful we are, that we may grow in our love for You, our Savior.
