Was blind, but now, I see

And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; – Acts 9:18

Saul, on his way to persecute Christians in the city of Damascus, was literally stopped in his tracks by the Lord and he was struck blind.  Later, a Christian named Ananias was sent to give him back his sight, by the Holy Spirit’s power.  And once Ananias had spoken to him, something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight.  This physical occurrence was a strong symbol to what had spiritually happened to him also.  He was blind.  But now he could see.  He could not see that Jesus is Lord, but now it was crystal clear.

This same miracle happened to all we who believe.  We too were spiritually blind, but then someone spoke the gospel to us, and by the Holy Spirit’s power, we went from blind to sighted.

God, we praise You that you have taken us out of blindness and that we now see that Jesus is Lord!
